Sizes a new circuit or checks an existing one against four criteria: voltage drop in normal operation, voltage drop during motor starting, continuous current capacity (heating) and thermal withstand under short circuit. It covers copper and aluminium cables, PVC or XLPE/EPR insulation, installation in air or in ground, and single-phase and three-phase networks. The method follows IEC 60364-5-52 and the Romanian I7-2011 code. The calculator interface is in Romanian.

Software for steady-state analysis of power networks, serving the same purpose as the commercial packages NEPLAN or ETAP. It is developed in the department and uses OpenDSS, an open-source tool, as its calculation engine. Students can use it free of charge for assignments, projects and bachelor theses.

How to use it- Download the archiveThe downloaded file is a 7z archive.
- Extract itExtract the contents to a folder using the free program 7-Zip or directly in Windows 11 (right-click the archive, then “Extract All”).
- Run EnergyPlus.exeOpen the resulting
win-x64 folder and start EnergyPlus.exe. Keep all files in the folder together: the program needs them. - If Windows shows a warningOn first start, Windows may display “Windows protected your PC”. Choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
